Opinion: carbon removal plans are dangerous distraction from cutting emissions

I wrote an article for Open Democracy calling for political and business leaders to be relentlessly interrogated about their plans to cut carbon emissions in the next year, by 2025 and by 2030. If we are to save our planet and prevent millions of people from being pushed deeper into hunger and poverty, it is critical that they are not allowed to get away with vague net zero targets, which when viewed in the context of others are unachievable.
