OPINION: UNLOCKING AID’S POTENTIAL

My article for the United Nations Association as part of a series on progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals. I wrote about how poverty and a dynamic civil society are critical to the effectiveness of aid and our ability to achieve the Global Goals. Once the politics and debates over foreign policy objectives are stripped away, at its heart aid is about helping the world’s poorest, most vulnerable people, and that its primary focus should be on reducing poverty.
