In the wake of the US election, I wrote an article for Prospect Magazine about some of the foreign policy questions the government faces. As we grapple with uncertainties of Covid and Brexit, we are long overdue a compelling vision of what Global Britain stands for. The government should not further delay its Integrated Review of defence, development, diplomacy and more – which could be an important opportunity to set out a coherent ambition for UK foreign policy based on the internationalist values we have long championed.
