DEBATE: INEQUALITY AND THE GLOBAL GOALS

It was a pleasure to host this debate as part of the UN’s SDG Action Zone, a series of events to supercharge action to meet the Global Goals. I spoke with inspirational activists from Nigeria, Kenya and the Philippines about their experiences of inequality and their campaigns for a better future. They described how social movements are demanding action and accountability from governments, and coming up with alternatives visions for their societies and communities, including increased citizen involvement in decision making, and care work being more fairly valued.
