Covering the big topics on BBC HARDtalk

9 February 2023 | Danny Sriskandarajah

A 24-minute non-stop grilling from Stephen Sackur on BBC HARDtalk last week was quite the experience.

But we managed to cover some really important topics from the urgency of action on hunger in East Africa, rising poverty and inequality levels, to Oxfam’s own cultural and operational transformation, including the actions that Oxfam has been taking to improve our systems, processes and culture around safeguarding.

You can watch clips below of some highlights from the conversation, or watch the whole thing here.

*This interview was recorded before the devastating earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria earlier this week. These events – and the life-saving humanitarian efforts currently underway in the region – further underline the critical need for us to ensure that our humanitarian system is strong, resilient and sufficiently resourced with the kind of pre-positioned funds that enable swift, coordinated and effective action. We’re doing everything we can to support our Oxfam and DEC colleagues and partners as they work tirelessly to bring relief. To support these efforts, click here to donate
