Letter: UK must act to help prevent countries slide into famine

I joined other Disasters Emergency Committee CEOs to write to the UK Government, urging it to act now to avert deadly hunger around the world. Rising food and energy costs, supercharged by the war in Ukraine, are exacerbating hunger including in east Africa, the Sahel and Middle East. We cannot wait until countries slide into famine. The UK, as part of its commitment to Global Britain, can help to save lives by working with the G7 and others to fund humanitarian aid, stabilise food prices and ensure World Bank capacity to respond effectively to crises.
