OPINION: DECOLONISING AID

I was invited to share some reflections on the future of aid for The New Humanitarian’s series on where next for the sector. For me, shifting power has to be at the heart of our efforts if we want to see genuine transformation, supporting communities to drive sustainable change themselves. And movements like Black Lives Matter are a powerful reminder of the need to confront racism and power imbalances wherever they occur, and replace them with fairer models built on respect and equality.
