IPPR PODCAST – CAN WEALTH TAXES SOLVE INEQUALITY?

I went back to my former workplace, the Institute of Public Policy and Research (IPPR), to talk about inequality, tax and redistribution with IPPR Director Carys Roberts and economist Shreya Nanda. IPPR’s new Economic Justice podcast is discussing ways in which the economy could be reformed to deliver better outcomes for all. For us at Oxfam, increasing wealth taxes to ensure a fairer distribution of resources is one way that governments could tackle today’s eye-watering levels of inequality, which see a tiny number of people at the top accruing vast wealth while half the world are facing a struggle to survive on less than $5.50 a day.
